So I finally rolled up to Laurel Mall with Will to check out the GVC skatepark. The price for 10 bucks on the weekend is a bit steep and 7 dollars on the week day is not much less steep but there probably isn't very much we can do about it.
The park itself is small but I that is to be expected considering the location. However it was pretty refreshing had some different obstacles and utilized space fairly well. My only serious complaint is that the quarterpipes need extensions so you can carry speed better in the park, The quarters are too small and force you to slow down more than flow through the park.
Also note that there were a huge amount of kids there so you can't really cruise around like you would want to hitting everything in the park because of all the kids, so I suggest those of you that are not 12 and know how to skateboard go there at like 11 on a weekday and shred before the kiddies get out of school.
However the state of Laurel mall may not allow this place to exist very long which is kinda disappointing. The place is a ghost town, more than half the stores are empty, not only that but there is one business in the foot quart and it is some shotty Jamaican restaurant. Luckily there is an Auntie Anne's on the second floor, but those are the only two places to get food or drinks in the mall. That or go to the dollar store...
